Here is a quick update on the paperwhites I potted back in November – almost exactly one month ago.
Today they are blooming and are at the peak of perfection!
For some reason this year adding alcohol to the water did not keep them from growing tall. I have used this trick in years past but to no avail this time. Oh! Well! They are still beautiful and fill the kitchen table with prettiness.
I have so enjoyed watching them transform from bulbs . .. .
. . . to buds . . .
. . . . to flowers!
I will probably have a few more days until the flowers start fading. Until then, however, I am going to enjoy these wonderful white flowers in all their glory.
Stacey, they are beautiful!

I always say I'm going to do paperwhites and never do -- aren't you glad you did? Those are gorgeous and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I intended to start some and never did it. I grow mine on a cold porch which makes them stay nice and short.
ReplyDeleteThey are so pretty to look at. I'm just not fond of the the smell I know a lot of people love them though. Maybe I just had a bad batch last time. :)
ReplyDeleteI recently did a post on paperwhites also-I love them! Mine are still only about 4 inches tall, and I'm hoping to time them right for Christams, but I have another set of bulbs ready to plant when these ones fade, so I can have some beautiful flowers into the New Year.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Gorgeous paperwhites. They look fabulous grouped all together on your table. I only planted a few this year, still waiting for the blooms. Yours are beautiful in the white milk glass vases. LOVE THEM - Lori

ReplyDeleteMy paperwhites are just now blooming and they are so pretty. I've saved a few bulbs to plant next week so I have some flowering during the long dark cold winter months.
